About
This is a pretty low traffic blog, in which sometimes I post Ukulele themed things I find on the internet, and also will on occasion post about fixer-upper ukulele projects I am undertaking. I also, less frequently now, post on twitter, and I have a youtube page I should probably delete as I never use it! Is there in case I one day decide to use it!!
For now though here is a short biography of my musical life. I have always loved music, and I think its true that to quote Friedrich Nietzsche “Without music, life would be a mistake…” I am a student of music rather than a performer, although I’ve played the guitar live a few times. I started off studying the classical guitar, then playing various styles on an electric guitar (fender telecaster), then playing around with a Bass guitar and Mandolin, before settling on my love for the Ukulele. I originally moved from Taunton, where the fabulous TUSC are from, without having found the Ukulele, I decided that I wanted a small instrument to play that would be fun, would be a string instrument and would be able to be carried on a plane easily, I picked up a dirt cheap Roy Smeck Harmony Uke, and then found by chance that I had found the Ukulele after leaving a centre of the Ukulele Movement – how bizarre, I then bought a Jupiter Creek Lap Steel Ukulele mainly as I was incredibly intrigued by the idea of a solid body electric lap steel ukulele – its a lot of fun but its kind of odd! I like it. Recently I have just bought myself a little fix-it-up job, a Slingerland Maybell Banjo-Uke. I want to purchase a decent ukulele at some point but haven’t decided what i want to get, or more accurately there are several I like!
